GFCR Grievance Redress Mechanism
The purpose of a Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM) is to provide an accessible, fair, and timely process for individuals, communities, or stakeholders to raise concerns or complaints related to GFCR-funded projects or interventions, especially regarding social, environmental, or procedural impacts.
Who Can Submit
Any affected individuals, groups, communities, organisations. You can submit on your own behalf or on behalf of others and may choose to stay anonymous or request confidentiality.
What Can Be Raised
- Concerns about project impacts (environmental, social, economic)
- Issues with stakeholder engagement or consultation
- Non-compliance with GFCR's policies or safeguard commitments
- Procedural grievances related to project implementation
You can file a complaint or grievance using either of the following channels:
Option 1: Submit a grievance directly to the respective GFCR Convening Agents implementing a programme in the destination country. The list of GFCR Programmes and responsible Convening Agents are available here:
GFCR PortfolioOption 2: If you feel as though your grievance has not been approriately addressed by the Convening Agent or do not feel comfortable addressing the grievance with the Convening Agent, you may submit a grievance directly to the Global Fund for Coral Reefs. UNDP’s Social and Environmental Compliance Unit (SECU) serves as the GFCR’s independent review mechanism. You can make anonymous complaints. In that case, GFCR will include the results of this process in the consolidated information database of processed complaints.
