GFCR Grievance Redress Mechanism

The Global Fund for Coral Reefs (GFCR) is committed to addressing stakeholder concerns in a proactive and transparent manner. It aims to ensure accountability and transparency in operations, facilitate early identification and resolution of issues, and promote compliance with environmental and social safeguards. By providing a channel for complainants to voice concerns, the Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM) supports GFCR’s commitment to sustainable livelihoods and community engagement in coral reef conservation efforts.

Any person negatively affected or impacted by a project or programme financed by the GFCR UN Fund may lodge a complaint. Each organization responsible for implementing a GFCR-financed programme has its own GRM, and holds responsibility for managing GFCR resources. In the first instance, the stakeholder should follow the GRM process outlined by the respective programme. Below is the list of the programmes, countries of implementation and links to their GRMs.

* For UNDP-led programmes, you may:

  1. Report Fraud, Abuse, and Misconduct
  2. Report Social and Environmental Impacts

If the grievance is not sufficient addressed or remain unsatisfied with the resolution, you have the right to escalate your grievance to the GFCR.
