The GFCR Equity Fund has invested in Parley for the Oceans, which operates worldwide. Parley is a global network of creators, thinkers, and leaders working across industries to raise awareness of ocean conservation and end the destructive cycle impacting marine environments. Connecting major brands, governments, communities and environmental groups, Parley leads a range of initiatives that drive systemic change and empower more impactful participation in the environmental cause. Parley’s initiatives include the development of Parley Ocean Plastic®, a high-performance material made from upcycled marine plastic debris.

The GFCR Equity Fund aims to expand Parley's ocean plastic model in GFCR countries, targeting plastics harming coral reefs. Through partnerships with local communities, Parley could remove over 1 million kilograms (1,000 metric tons) of marine plastic annually, upcycling it into premium materials like "Parley Ocean Plastic" for products such as Clean Waves sunglasses and Adidas X Parley shoes.
