Located in Palawan, Philippines, this project in the Philippines aims to establish a sustainable community-based sea cucumber production system to prevent overexploitation of wild stocks of sea cucumbers, regenerate seagrass habitats via bioturbation in grow-out farms, improve water quality, create more than 20 direct jobs, and generate income for more than 300 coastal households.

This community-based sea cucumber aquaculture company with hatchery and processing facilities responds to a growing international demand (incl. pharmaceutical and nutrition). First revenues are expected in Q2 2026. By cultivating sea cucumbers in shallow coastal areas, the initiative provides sustainable livelihoods for local communities, helps reduce overharvesting of wild stocks, and promotes ecosystem balance in marine environments.
