BiOceanOr
BIOCEANOR has developed the first underwater weather station for real time and predictive monitoring of water quality. They offer Sea Aquaculture, Inland Aquaculture, and Environmental Monitoring, seeking to combat the impacts of climate change on the world’s oceans.
By being able to better understand the marine environment and anticipate its changes, the water resources, marine life, reefs, biodiversity can be protected. The company uses IoT and Big Data (machine/deep learning) to deliver a "virtual water quality assistant", with connected devices (fixed and floating module) to measure more than 15 physio-chemical parameters like temperature, salinity, pH, Oxygen, turbidity, etc. The data can be visualized in real time and alert levels set up via messages/email through a 24x7 web interface.
Their primary solution AquaREAL is designed for different kinds of water environment and has multiple applications: Environmental real-time monitoring, smart analysis, smart maintenance, and predictive maintenance.
The solution can also anticipate water quality deterioration (Bacterial contamination, Harmful Algae Bloom, oxygen level) to better manage critical situations (Closure of a swimming area, an aquaculture production). In collaboration with CRIOBE, Bioceanor has deployed its Aquareel monitoring buoy (cloud-based autonomous monitoring system) in Moorea to assist in coral monitoring.
It monitors parameters that can be correlated with the measurements of the CRIOBE scientists with the observation of the buoy.
