Corail Artefact
Corail Artefact has developed the point d'esprit, which is a cotton lace pattern that can be used to regenerate coral reefs in oceans.
The company's founder Jé ré my Gobé collaborated with Mobilier National and Polymaris to create the point d'esprit, which is ideal for the development of coral larvae, allowing the corals to reproduce.
In addition, this lace pattern is suitable for protecting coral reefs from marine predators. It can also be used by local associations focusing on coral regeneration.
How does Corail Artefact preserve coral reefs? Aside from creating the point d'esprit, the team also develops eco-friendly concrete structures to revive coral reefs. Corail Artefact employs aquariology tools to accelerate coral restoration.
Finally, the startup provides biopolymer-based materials and educational kits as a means to eliminate the use of plastic containers and raise public awareness about the importance of coral reefs, respectively.
Several partnerships have been formed, including with CODIF Technologie Naturelle, Hoffmann Green Cement, and Ipocamp, among others. In 2021, Corail Artefact won the Planè te Art Solidaire Prize given by Art of Change 21.
It is also seeking funding in an effort to further advance its lace pattern technique.
