Del Puerto al Huerto is an early-stage initiative that transforms fish waste from coastal communities into organic fertilizers and agricultural inputs, promoting a circular economy, reducing overfishing impacts, and supporting coastal ecosystem restoration. The model includes community gardens with fishers and their families, generating alternative livelihoods through the sale of vegetables and, potentially, organic fertilizer.

Pilot projects have been implemented in Sonora and Yucatán, with proven replicability in multiple communities. The initiative is now expanding to Quintana Roo, with plans to scale nationally and internationally, targeting local markets as well as the hotel and restaurant sector. The venture participated in the first MAR+Invest bootcamp prior to the third cohort of the Acceleration Program in 2025.
