The company has launched various initiatives to promote industrial sustainability. It presents the world's first sustainable city incubator, a research and development program focused solely on the development of new solutions for the future generation of sustainable cities.
One of its projects is the Dubai Reefs , the world’s largest ocean restoration project. It is a floating living laboratory for marine conservation and ecotourism.
This sustainable floating city is expected to hold residential, hotel, retail, educational, and research facilities, as well as provide over 30,000 job opportunities.
The heart of the project is the marine institute to boost Dubai's marine science and conservation capability. Dubai Reefs aspires to be a model for ocean living while reducing the effects of climate change.
In 2022, URB announced an AED 37 million urban-tech partnership with Anthill Capital Ventures.
It has also launched Urban Innovation Awards 2023, which will honor the top rising talents under the age of 30 who promote sustainability in the field of landscape design, architecture, and urban planning.
