This initiative will create sustainable funding for the Aqaba Marine Reserve’s (AMR) coral reef conservation through new revenue mechanisms such as user fees, trust funds, and eco-taxes. By enhancing financial stability, AMR can improve its conservation efforts, serving as a funding model for marine protected areas in the region. An international consultant has been appointed to develop potential financing instruments, with detailed reports expected to be completed within the coming few months.
