Great Fringing Reef Mooring Systems upgrade
This solution involves upgrading and expanding mooring systems in the Egyptian Red Sea.
To protect coral reefs from damage caused by boat anchoring, this solution involves upgrading and expanding mooring systems in the Egyptian Red Sea. Managed by the Hurghada Environmental Protection and Conservation Association (HEPCA), the project will install durable moorings suited to larger vessels, establish carrying capacities, and introduce a fee structure to sustain maintenance. This approach aims to mitigate reef degradation from tourism while ensuring long-term financial viability.
