Kitesurfing Lanka (KSL) offers an authentic and friendly community experience that emphasizes a healthy lifestyle and sustainability.

The company was established by Dilsiri Welikala and L&eacute o Moret, who both realized their passion for kitesurfing, nature, and the Sri Lankan community.

KSL is committed to recycling and the use of sustainable materials to lower its environmental impact.

The team also supports locals by providing them employment and works with local schools to educate the community regarding plastic waste and its harmful effect on the environment.

KSL is conducting the Kite Green Initiative, which serves as an umbrella brand for all of its environmental efforts. This initiative mainly focuses on the Mangrove planting project, which aims to restore mangroves in the community and ensure their survival in the future.

Planting mangroves is important because they can provide shelter for marine life, prevent erosion, and are capable of isolating carbon, therefore reducing the effects of climate change. Kite Green Initiative also includes waste management and recycling facilities for the community and the camp. How does KSL protect the environment? Guests are encouraged to plant a mangrove to help offset their carbon footprint and promote ecotourism.

They can also choose a community beach clean-up to manage waste properly.

KSL operates a waste management facility and collaborates with Merijaan to upcycle plastic waste in the ocean. The team accepts donations for the Kite Green Initiative. The proceeds will be used to co-finance mangrove seedlings and educational programs and to support waste management and recycling facility costs.

A variety of activities are also provided, like kitesurfing, guided kayak tours, excursions, yoga classes, and wakeboarding. In August 2018, the Carbon Consulting Company partnered with KSL to launch the Blue Carbon Mangrove Project, which aims to replant and restore mangroves surrounding the latter's property.
