This project focuses on developing and promoting the marketing of food-grade macroalgae as a sustainable alternative in the food industry. It aims to create new economic opportunities while promoting environmentally friendly and healthy food products. The project team is part of FUNDAECO (Foundation for the Development and Conservation of Guatemala), a Guatemalan organization working on environmental conservation and sustainable development. This project was part of the Build & Connect 2023 program and in 2025 they received additional mentorship as part of the Build & Connect continued efforts to support the 2023 cohort.
