Nuli Sapi Retreat
Nuli Sapi Retreat is a community‑run eco‑lodge on Logea (Rogeia) Island, Bwanabwana LLG, Milne Bay, that pairs low‑impact accommodation with guided reef and cultural experiences to channel tourism revenue into locals jobs, skills and marine stewardship. With a US$47,704.91(PGK 199,931.27) Blue Economy Enterprise Incubation Facility (BE-EIF) performance‑based grant, the business is constructing a small kitchen/restaurant and one additional bungalow, and delivering training in eco‑hospitality, sustainable tourism and reef‑safe fishing. These upgrades lift service quality and guest capacity while embedding conservation behaviours and livelihoods for women and youth. Operations sit within a locally observed “gwala”(no‑take) area, with stakeholder engagement underway to explore formal LMMA designation, linking visitor spend to strengthened community governance and healthier mangrove‑reef ecosystems. Conduct practical training to grow inclusive tourism and formalise local reef stewardship, turning visitor spend into jobs, skills and better-protected mangrove-reef habitats.
