Thalasso AS is a Norwegian-Mexican collaborative project that aims to promote a sustainable economy by harvesting sargassum, in order to protect the Caribbean region. To do so, the company collaborated with Inventas to develop the Ocean Harvester, designed as an autonomous, scalable, and electronic harvesting solution to stop the invasion of this brown seaweed. Some key benefits of using Ocean Harvester: It is environmentally-friendly and electric. It promotes a circular economy.

It protects marine life. It reduces environmental damages. It is able to operate in rough water conditions. It is remote-controlled and does not need a crew to operate it.

The solution is also applicable to governments, marinas, and hotels with less flexible economies. The objective is to take the collected seaweed and, through a network of micro-biorefineries, turn it into numerous products that will improve our planet's health.

Thalasso AS is a member of several organizations, including the Ocean Autonomy Cluster, the NOSCA Clean Oceans cluster, Seaworthy Collective, Siva SF, Blue Bio Value, and The Ocean Opportunity Lab (TOOL), to name a few.
