They make sustainable and affordable water for people and businesses in coastal areas.
The ocean water contains brine discharge which makes it impossible to drink it directly. Ocean Oasis aims to support people and industries in the stressed coastal regions.
To fight water scarcity in these areas, the company started this initiative. The sustainable development goals of the company are: Availability of clean water and sanitation access to affordable and clean energy to fight climate change conserve water resources Ocean Oasis works in the deep ocean to produce fresh water and uses wave power for the desalination process in their floating plants.
They have applied to patent their solution for catching wave energy to get a stabilized flow of ocean water.
The deepwater desalination process is: Flexible Zero-emission Does not need expensive land Cost-effective Sustainable after production, the freshwater is then distributed by pipes from their desalination plant.
In addition, they provide a Build-own-operate (BOO) model for clients. In this model, they finance, construct, run and maintain the desalination plants and provide long-term contracts.The company has been selected to join SEB ScaleCenter at Filipstad Brygge in Oslo.
They are also supported by Grieg Maritime Group with a special unit Grieg Edge for the solution and VC Antler.
