Wastewater

This solution focuses on improving organic waste management in and around Hurghada, where waste leakage could contribute to nutrient runoff and marine pollution , affecting nearby coral reef ecosystems.

The solution promotes circular approaches that convert organic waste into usable products, including compost for urban farming, reducing the volume of waste entering coastal environments.

Working with the Hurghada Environmental Protection and Conservation Agency (HEPCA) - a Non-Governmental Organization that works primarily with marine and land conservation in the Red Sea Governorate in Egypt - the solution supports locally appropriate waste collection and upcycling models that contribute to reduced pollution pressures and improved environmental management along the Red Sea coast.
