The overall objective of this project is to establish innovative processes for the transformation of plastic waste to support coral reef conservation, while developing community-based circular economy initiatives on the island of San Andrés. To achieve this, the project is structured around three strategic lines of action.

First, it aims to strengthen local technical and logistical capacities for integrated solid waste management on the island. Second, it seeks to generate added value within plastic waste recovery and recycling processes, enhancing their economic and environmental impact. Third, the project implements a training program for Raizal women and youth, empowering them to lead sustainable recycling initiatives and contribute to coral reef conservation efforts in San Andrés.
