Sea Sensorium - Philippines
The project in Palawan, Philippines, is set to create a captivating marine visitor centre known as the 'Sea Sensorium.' This innovative centre offers visitors a technological and interactive journey through the marine habitats of Palawan, aiming to raise awareness about marine conservation, diversify tourism and educational activities, and generate revenue to support the local MPA networks managed by Blue Alliance.
Utilizing advanced interactive displays, the center showcases local marine biodiversity and the importance of conservation, fostering a strong connection between visitors and the underwater environment.
As of now, significant progress has been made in the project, including the development of a creative concept, the signing of a site lease with the local government, and the engagement of an architect and project manager.
The project’s ultimate goal is to become a financially sustainable venture that directly funds MPA management, fosters marine protection awareness among both local and foreign visitors, and creates job opportunities within the community.
