Coral Matters: Issue 1

The Coral Reef Research Hub (CRRH) is excited to present the inaugural issue of our new quarterly magazine ‘Coral Matters’, that aims to bring you up-to-date coral related news, research, help and advice from around the world. It is also a place where they will be featuring members work, ideas and questions. See instructions at the bottom of this page for how you can contribute to future issues. Remember this is YOUR magazine, created by coral reef scientists for coral reef scientists!

In this issue, CRRH reviews the latest research that uses AI to help coral reefs, and ask is AI corals friend or foe? Other main stories: Has a coral reef ‘tipping point’ been reached? What were the big climate stories from 2025? Along with these important topics, the also feature the line up of regular columns: reef roundup; photography feature; stories from the field, coral career column; and get the right gear.
