Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion: UN Learning Resources

Training courses to better integrate gender equality and disability inclusion

The following UN learning resources are available to support teams to better integrate gender equality, and disability inclusion into their work and documentation.

1. UN Disability Inclusion Strategy - Putting Words into Action (UNSSC)

Short UNSSC module (approx. 90 minutes) that introduces the UNDIS and practical steps to promote disability inclusion in day-to-day work.

2. Open Online Course on Gender and Environment (UN CC:Learn / GEF / UNDP)

Self-paced course (approx. 6 hours) that explains linkages between gender equality and environment, including climate change, biodiversity, land degradation, international waters, and chemicals and waste. Available in EN, ES and FR, with free certification.

3. “I Know Gender”: An Introduction to Gender Equality for UN Staff (UNICEF)

Introductory e-learning on gender concepts, the international framework and gender equality within the UN system.

4. UN Gender-Inclusive Language Toolbox

Practical toolbox with guidelines and activities to support the use of gender-inclusive language in English (and other UN languages) in our day-to-day writing and communications.

5. Gender Equality and Human Rights in Climate Action and Renewable Energy (UN CC:Learn, UNEP, UN Women)

Self-paced course (approx. 6 hours) that explains how to integrate gender equality and human rights into climate action and renewable energy interventions.

6. Integrating Human Rights and Gender Equality in Evaluations (UN Women, OHCHR, UNEG)

Intermediate level course (approx. 12 hours) on how to systematically integrate human rights and gender equality in evaluation design, implementation and reporting.

7. UN Women Training Centre – “I Know Gender” and related self-paced courses

A broader library of self-paced modules on specific gender topics, including women’s economic empowerment, gender in emergencies, RBM, gender markers and more.

8. Social Protection for Sustainable Development (UNSSC)
