Reefs of Hope

Reefs of Hope is the first coral-focused coral reef adaptation strategy proposed for implementation globally. While coral restoration is the foundation of the work, we can not restore a collapsing system until we first stabilize it.

Some resorts are partnering with Corals for Conservation and hiring indigenous marine scientists who are trained to carry the strategies out, as a sort of insurance policy, so that their tourism product will survive in spite of the predicted collapse of coral reefs over the coming decades. We are proposing this as the first coral-focused climate change adaptation paradigm.
