The Global Coral Reef Monitoring Network (GCRMN) has released a new Science-to-Action Brief: Status of Coral Reefs of the World: 2025 – Results and Implications for the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KMGBF), to support discussions at COP17 Armenia.

Drawing on the latest global assessment, the Brief highlights how long-term coralreef monitoring can help countries track biodiversity trends, strengthen national reporting and accelerate action towards global biodiversity goals. The Brief was developed by the Policy Stream of the GCRMN Communications and Policy Taskforce, highlighting the importance of connecting robust scientific evidence with policy processes to support the implementation of the KM-GBF.
