- Do you wonder what successful collaboration between diverse actors looks like — and how to move beyond knowledge sharing towards co-producing impactful change?
WIOMSA-SCALABLE, together with leading regional and international partners, is pleased to announce a call for applications to participate in a highly interactive 5-day in-person training workshop on co-design for ocean sustainability. We aim to bring community representatives, decisionmakers, scientists and other ocean professionals together to exchange ideas and learn with experts how to best collaborate for more sustainable and inclusive marine and coastal management.
About the Training
The WIO region, renowned for its rich biodiversity and vibrant coastal communities, is facing growing environmental and socio-economic pressures, including habitat degradation, overfishing, and climate change impacts. Addressing these complex challenges requires approaches that are participatory and inclusive of different perspectives and knowledges, seeking locally relevant solutions. This training will equip participants with the concepts, approaches, tools, and hands-on experience to adopt codesign approaches — bringing together scientists, indigenous knowledge holders, policymakers, community representatives, and other actors to collaboratively develop sustainable solutions to real-life challenges.
