The Biru Fund is a recoverable grant facility being developed in Indonesia to support early-stage, reef-positive community enterprises that are not yet ready for commercial investment. Led by YKAN under the KORALESTARI programme, the fund aims to fill a critical pre-commercial financing gap by providing catalytic capital and technical assistance to businesses in sectors such as sustainable aquaculture, seaweed, ecotourism, fisheries, and waste management. Through a revolving fund structure, the Biru Fund is designed to recycle capital, strengthen local value chains, and help enterprises become investment-ready while delivering measurable benefits for coral reef conservation and coastal communities.
