These funds are established to support the co-management of coral reefs across three seascapes, Bar Reef, Kayankerni, and Pigeon Island, including core MPAs and satellite patches of climate refugia coral reefs, by strengthening law enforcement, conservation efforts, and environmentally responsible practices. They provide necessary financial resources to seascape-wide Collaborative Management Committees (CMCs) and Community Conservation Groups (CCGs) to prevent illegal activities and protect coral ecosystems. CCTFs will also support the implementation of the Management Effectiveness Tracking Tool (METT) and Green Listing for improved Marine Protected Area (MPA) management and engage coral-dependent communities in sustainable business ventures.
