The Micronesia Challenge (MC) 2030 Livelihood Fund is a financial mechanism designed to support sustainable, conservation-linked livelihoods across the Micronesia region. It is part of the broader Micronesia Challenge 2030, a regional commitment by the Federated States of Micronesia, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Republic of Palau, Guam, and the Northern Mariana Islands to effectively conserve at least 50% of marine resources and 30% of terrestrial resources by 2030. The Livelihood Fund specifically aims to empower local communities by financing projects and enterprises that generate income while advancing conservation goals, such as reef-positive businesses, eco-tourism, and sustainable fisheries. By aligning livelihood development with ecosystem protection, the Fund contributes to both environmental resilience and long-term community well-being. The fund will provide grants to support reef-positive businesses.
