Tenaka
Tenaka offers programs for restoring the ocean and building a regenerative economy, and believes that rebuilding marine life is a solution to mitigating the climate crisis.
The company aims to anchor ocean regeneration in every business model. The company's mission is to help willing corporations shift to a net-positive business, benefiting people and the planet.
Tenaka has created two programs to regenerate the ocean: Coral Reef Program - it is a restoration program to rewild coral reefs. To do this, coral nurseries, made of sustainable materials, are utilized to reconnect patches of reefs to restore degraded coral reefs.
This program has two coral nurseries: a dome nursery, a structure made of eco-friendly metallic frames shaped to reproduce the natural features of the reef, and a glass nursery, made of recycled glass bottles, held in cement made of crushed glass. Blue Carbon Program - a program that enables corporations to offset their residual carbon footprint by planting mangrove forests or coral reefs. Aside from restoring coral reefs, restoring mangrove forests will help sequester five times more CO2 than terrestrial forests.
The Tenaka Science platform allows corporations to communicate in a transparent and user-friendly way. It is a way to engage the stakeholders through the measurement data transmitted for CSR reporting.
